nursery update...and food?

This weekend was very productive! The nursery is finally painted the base color and I actually cooked a few things on Sunday.

I tried fried okra for the first time. I made it how my mother in law makes it. I love it with just a little breading on it so you can really taste the okra. It was ah-maze. The hubs was pretty impressed that I did so well for my first time. I also made my mama's chicken salad to use for lunch this week, but did not take a picture. And I really can't believe I didn't take a picture of what Brad made--home made meatballs--made with pork, lamb and beef. They were so good, holy crap. We have lots left to make subs too.

We had to take a pic of my meal on Saturday night. haha. We used our birthday gift certificate and went to one of my favorite places, Mint. I ordered the rib eye. It was 16 oz. After appetizers, I ended up eating about 3 bites and we took the rest home. But look at that thing!!

Kingsley has the bone. That is another story all in itself. It is his first real bone and he is so protective. It is literally the most hilarious thing in life. We were crying with laughter watching him take it to every corner and nook of the house trying to find the perfect place to hide it..

Nursery Update:

And ta-da the nursery is painted the base color!! It is called swiss coffee. It is a Benjamin Moore color, but I got Sherwin Williams to match it because they are nicer and a little bit less expensive (had a coupon). Brad also painted the trim, doors, and bookshelf...which is in that little nook. It is built in. Stripes to come this weekend....beyond excited!!

... And ordered the chair/glider! This is the exact fabric too...mine will be here in 4-6 weeks. It is a cream color with cream designs on it. I know, I'll definitely have to scotch guard that. I love it though. It is the.most.comfortable.chair. in the world AND I would put it in any room of my house.

So get excited...I know I am!

Okay, it's 8:30 in the morning & you've got me ready for dinner :)

It feels so good to get the nursery done. I was a little crazy & had almost everything complete when I was only 5 months prego. Btw, cute chair!

aww I love following along on your pregnancy! I read every post, even if I am a horrible commenter :(

I SO remember being pregnant and feeling starving, and after a few bites of food, I felt STUFFED and couldn't eat another bite.

and i LOVE that chair! Take it from me, having a comfy chair is super important. You will live in it haha!!

Fried okra is one of my favorite summer foods! My mom grows it in her garden, so I freeze some of the extra so we can have it throughout the year. So good!

We don't see much okra here in Seattle, but it's on my list to try someday!
